These instructions help you configure your Mitel 5000-7000 phone system to work with TIM Plus. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Configuring the SMDR output

y default, the Mitel 5000-7000 has its SMDR output disabled. Follow the steps below to enable it:

  1. Log in to the Mitel DB Studio software.
  2. Click and expand the System node.
  3. Click and expand the Cabinet node.
  4. Select the Sockets node.
  5. In the right-hand window, click on the SMDR parameter to set its enabled state to Yes.
  6. Click and expand the System icon.
  7. Click and expand the Maintenance icon.
  8. Click on the SMDR icon.
  9. On the right-hand side you will have the SMDR fields that need to be configured, as shown below:

Configuring TIM Enterprise

Follow the steps below to configure TIM Enterprise to collect the SMDR data from your Mitel 5000-7000:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.
  2. Choose the PBX object you want to configure and click Properties.
  3. A new window will open. In the General tab, select Mitel 5000-7000 from the Data format list and tick the Keep a local backup of data box, as shown below:
  4. In the Connection tab, select Establish TCP connection to PBX from the Connection method list.
  5. In the Host field, enter the IP address of your Mitel 5000-7000.
  6. In the Port field, enter 4000.
  7. Leave the Username and Password fields blank.
  8. In the Connection script field, select Generic Simple from the drop-down list.
  9. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.

<h2>Configuring your SMDR</h2>

<p>The Mitel 5000-7000 by default has the SMDR output disabled. To enable the retrieval of SMDR via IP you will need to perform the below steps:</p>

<h4>Enabling the SMDR output</h4>

<ol>
	<li>Login to the Mitel DB Studio software.</li>
	<li>Click and expand the <span class="button no_margin">System</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Click and expand the <span class="button no_margin">Cabinet</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Sockets</span> icon.</li>
	<li>On the right-hand side you will have the <span class="reference">SMDR</span> parameter. Click on the <span class="reference">Enable</span> field and click on the check box which will automatically change to 
	<span class="keyword">Yes</span>.</li>

<h4>Configuring the SMDR</h4>

<ol>
	<li>Click and expand the <span class="button no_margin">System</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Click and expand the <span class="button no_margin">Maintenance</span> icon.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">SMDR</span> icon.</li>
	<li>On the right-hand side you will have the SMDR fields that need to be configured, as shown below:</li>

<h2>Configuring TIM Enterprise</h2>

<p>Below you will find steps on how to configure TIM Enterprise to listen for SMDR data from your Mitel 5000-7000:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Browse to TIM Enterprise as normal and login with your credentials.</li>
	<li>Click on the <span class="button no_margin">Directory</span> tab.</li>
	<li>Go the the point in the Directory where you need to add the PBX Object and add a PBX with the name 'Mitel 5000-7000'.</li>
	<li>Left-click on it and select <span class="button no_margin">Properties</span>.</li>
	<li>From the <span class="button no_margin">General</span> settings tab select <span class="keyword">Mitel 5000-7000</span> from the PBX model list.</li>

	<li>In the <span class="button no_margin">Connection</span> tab select <span class="keyword">Establish TCP connection to PBX</span> from the <span class="reference">Connection method</span> list.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Host</span> field enter the IP Address of your Mitel 5000-7000.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">Port</span> field enter in <span class="keyword">4000</span>.</li>
	<li>Leave the <span class="reference">Username</span> and <span class="reference">Password</span> fields blank.</li>
	<li>In the <span class="reference">IP script</span> field select <span class="keyword">Mitel</span> from the drop-down list.</li>
	<li>Finally, click on the <span class="button no_margin">Save</span> button.</li>
